Come celebrate the launch of Sahar Mustafah's debut, prize-winning short story collection, Code of the West. Spanning two continents, Code of the West, follows native Palestinian and Palestinian American characters as they navigate displacement and loss, while battling hatred and fear.
Sahar Mustafah is the daughter of Palestinian immigrants, a richly complex inheritance she explores in her fiction. Her short stories have been awarded the Guild Literary Complex Prize for fiction, a Distinguished Story honor by Best American Short Stories 2016, and a Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net nominations. She is co-founder of Bird’s Thumb and has been teaching for over twenty years in Illinois. She is finishing her first novel, a hate crime shooting that takes place in an Islamic private girls’ school outside of Chicago.
