In her debut memoir, Chicago writer Dawn Mueller charts her course as she departs from society’s expectations of lesbians, AA, and religion, and embarks on a quest of sexual fulfillment (without the aid of alcohol). Her sober perspective bares all as we follow her sometimes heartbreaking, often awkward struggles (and occasional triumphs), as an outsider among outsiders. Set in the north side of Chicago, and written with just the right amount of humor and humility, Mueller writes about sex, relationships, and sobriety in a style best described as Augusten Burroughs meets Bridget Jones.
