The menus feature activities paired with works such as Charlotte's Web by E. B. White, Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLachlan, Mr. Popper's Penguins by Richard and Florence Atwater, and The Birchbark House by Louise Erdrich; poetry by Ernest Lawrence Thayer, Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, and William Blake; and much more. The menus can be used to guide students in making decisions as to which products they will develop after studying a major piece of literature. Using creative and challenging choices found in a variety of menu formats, students will look forward to sharing their newfound knowledge throughout the year. Also included are specific guidelines for products, rubrics for assessing student products, and teacher introduction pages for each menu.
