The book was written by an experienced viticulturalist who witnessed and participated in the evolution of Oregon as a world known wine region. The book is about the history of Oregon wine in general and not anyone in particular. It describes the phases of growth beginning with mom and pops hobbyists to experienced and entrepreneurial wine experts who built on the promise and all the way to more risk adverse giant corporate efforts. It details the various viticultural and commercial challenges that were overcome along the way. The outcome as we see today are sophisticated highly recognized names with high ratings.
About the Author
Allen has been living in Dundee Oregon since 1980 and has owned his own vineyard since 1984. He had career in vineyard management for Oregon's world class companies. From 2017 he has been enjoying his life as a retiree and taught viticulture as an adjunct teacher for colleges in his community.
