Hailing from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa and Sudan, the photographers included represent some of the most innovative perspectives in African photography today. Their photographs are complemented by 13 essays that consider the medium within this historical moment in Africa.
