Description

Hispanic American identity and Hispanic literature are deeply rooted in magical realism, and so it is with these concepts in mind that I find my own poetic voice Poetry leads to deeper understanding, which is why I write. My poems are like short stories, vignettes, that unravel both dark, and light moments of my past. Memoirs, events, romantic moments, and trying times of emotional challenges compel me to reveal my personal thoughts, and hidden imperfections. To me the wonderment of the universe and all its parts are an exercise in mental clarity, an extension that propels me beyond my own cognitive bubble. I have learned over the course of many decades that poems are more than mere words on pages, but rather, a welcome journey that unites us when we find ourselves misunderstood, longing to be a part of something that lies beyond a mundane existence.
