Mary Wisniewski is a reporter and columnist at the Chicago Tribune. Her new biography of novelist Nelson Algren, Algren: A Life, is the winner of the 2017 best biography award from the Society of Midland Authors and best nonfiction award from the Chicago Writers Association. She also teaches creating writing and appears frequently on local television and radio.
