Examining the deeper cultural backstory to fundamentalist attacks on same-sex marriage, Confronting Religious Denial of Gay Marriage ranges from mid-20th century Right-wing political campaign to Iron Age biology and Greco-Roman sexual anxieties. Wallace explains why these attacks are both intellectually groundless and without basis in moral theology. Drawing connections between secular humanists and Christian humanists share both values, Wallace illustrates how the two are natural allies in confronting fundamentalist attacks on marriage, human dignity, and civil rights.
