For the celebration of the paperback edition of Paris, He Said, local author Christine Sneed will be joined by Grace Tiffany. Tiffany and Sneed will both read from recently published novels, both of which include actual events and/or people. Tiffany's novel, Gunpowder Percy, focuses on a historical event, the Gunpowder Plot, and explores Shakespeare's unwitting involvement in a barely thwarted terrorist act. Sneed's novel, Paris, He Said, includes Susan Kraut, a painter and longtime painting professor at SAIC, as an important supporting character. Both novels examine the ways art can inspire and enrich human lives. Christine Sneed is the author of Little Known Facts and the award-winning story collection Portraits of a Few of the People I’ve Made Cry. Grace Tiffany has taught Shakespeare at the University of Notre Dame, Fordham University, the University of New Orleans, and Western Michigan University, where she is now a professor. Her articles have appeared in Shakespeare Quarterly, Comparative Drama, and many other literary journals.
