Author Reading: Elynne Chaplik Aleskow, MY GIFT OF NOW: A SHORT COLLECTION OF MEMOIRS

Elynne Chaplik-Aleskow is a Pushcart Prize-nominated author of My Gift of Now, a collection of her short memoirs.  Elynne is an award-winning educator and broadcaster, founding General Manager of WYCC-TV/PBS, and Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Wright College in Chicago.  Her adult storyteller program IN HER OWN VOICE is renowned. Elynne Chaplik-Aleskow’s performances and discussions of her stories have been broadcast on The Bob Edwards Show on NPR; Rick Kogan’s After Hours on WGN radio; WBBM Newsradio with Regine Schlesinger; Conversations LIVE with Cyrus Webb; 26 N. Halsted with George Blaise on WCIU/TV; and others. She performed her Pushcart-Prize nominated memoir “More Than Life” in NYC at the Museum of Motherhood. Elynne has performed her stories for organizations throughout the United States and Canada including Chicago’s Printer’s Row Lit Fest. Her work has been part of the production “Dear Mother” in L.A. at The Lyric Theater.  Elynne was a featured guest artist performing her stories at the Acorn Theater in Michigan and at Chapters Bookstore in Ontario, Canada.  A film short adaptation of Elynne’s story “The Hat” was featured at a 2014 Chicago Indie film festival. Visit http://LookAroundMe.blogspot.com.
