Join us for a kids' story time with local author and singer-songwriter Susan Salidor! This event is perfect for little ones ages 1 to 6 and their grown-ups!
Susan Salidor's first book for young children is based on her song, "I've Got Peace In My Fingers." The joyous, evocative pictures beautifully illustrate the idea that all of us, even the youngest among us, can be makers and messengers of peace. The book includes an empowering "This book belongs to..." page along with the sheet music for the song. The book can be read, chanted or sung, and the interwoven stories told in pictures give children opportunities to imagine how they, too, can help the world be a kinder, gentler place.
Susan Salidor is a singer, songwriter and preschool music specialist living in Chicago. Her award-winning original music includes eight award-winning recordings (Spotify, CDBaby, iTunes) and can be heard wherever music is streamed and/or downloaded. Susan loves making music with children, giving keynote addresses and creating music workshops for early elementary teachers. She is eternally grateful to the children whose voices have carried this song around the world.
Accessibility: Our store is wheelchair accessible, however--there is a narrow hallway and sharp 90-degree turn on the way to our bathrooms. Seating is first-come, first-served, but we are happy to reserve seats for people with disabilities. We have LED lighting that can be adjusted with dimmers. Contact the bookstore for seating reservations or other questions at 773-769-9299.
