JackLeg Press Lauch Featuring Maureen Seaton, Barbara Cully, & Jennifer Harris!

JackLeg
Press is based on a collectivist, empowerment model to support both
emerging and established writers of poetry and prose. At JackLeg, the
writers are the story. We're thrilled to share the launch of the press
with the following three books:

Genetics by Maureen Seaton

Barbara Cully is the author of poetry collections Desire Reclining
(Penguin, 2003); The New Intimacy (Penguin, 1997), which won the
National Poetry Series Open Competition; and Shoreline Series and That
Place Where (Kore Press, 1997 and 2011). She is co-editor of two
textbooks, Entry Points and Writing as Revision (Pearson, editions
1996-2011). She has received fellowships from the Arizona Commission on
the Arts and has been Writer-in-Residence for the YMCA Writer’s Voice.

Maureen Seaton has authored fourteen poetry collections, both solo and
collaborative—most recently, Cave of the Yellow Volkswagen (Carnegie
Mellon, ’09); America Loves Carney (Sow’s Ear, ‘09); Stealth, with Sam
Ace (Chax Press, ‘11); and Sinéad O’Connor and Her Coat of a Thousand
Bluebirds, with Neil de la Flor (Firewheel, Sentence Book Award, ‘11). A
memoir, Sex Talks to Girls (University of Wisconsin Press, ’08), won
the Lambda Literary Award, and her poetry has received numerous honors
including the Lammy, the Audre Lorde Award, the Iowa Poetry Prize, the

Jennifer Harris’ first novel, Pink (Haworth
2007, Bold Strokes Books 2008) was hailed a “true poetic read” by
Raymond Hammond, Editor of the New York Quarterly. Her poetry has
appeared in national literary magazines such as the New York Quarterly
and HLLQ, as well as several anthologies.
