Women & Children First welcomes torrin a. greathouse for a virtual reading in celebration of Wound from the Mouth of a Wound. Joining greathouse is Zeyn Joukhadar, author most recently of The Thirty Names of Night.

torrin a. greathouse is a transgender cripple-punk and MFA candidate at the University of Minnesota. She is the author of boy/girl/ghost (TAR Chapbook Series, 2018) and assistant editor of The Shallow Ends. In 2020, they received fellowships from Zoeglossia and the University of Arizona Poetry Center. Their work is published in POETRYPloughshares, & The Kenyon Review. Her debut collection Wound from the Mouth of a Wound was published by Milkweed Editions in December 2020.

Zeyn Joukhadar is a member of the Radius of Arab American Writers (RAWI). Joukhadar’s writing has appeared in Salon, The Paris Review, The Kenyon Review, and elsewhere and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and the Best of the Net. The Map of Salt and Stars was a 2018 Middle East Book Award winner in Youth Literature and a 2018 Goodreads Choice Award Finalist in Historical Fiction and was shortlisted for the Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing Prize. He has received fellowships from the Montalvo Arts Center, the Arab American National Museum, Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, the Camargo Foundation, and the Albers Foundation.
