Asking Bear Live! is delightful to experience, but difficult to describe: it’s a live advice show where storytelling, advising, and common sense with a queer twist. Building on Bear’s popular advice column, Asking Bear (askingbear.com) and his acclaimed new book, SPECIAL TOPICS IN BEING A HUMAN, Bear will take your questions on all matters from the sacred to the profane and give his opinion on how you should proceed. Funny, tender, and surprisingly helpful, Asking Bear Live! is a fun and novel way to place your difficult conundrums into the caring and capable hands of one of Canada’s beloved advice givers. $10 or PWYC..

S. Bear Bergman is an author, storyteller, educator and the founder and publisher of children’s book press Flamingo Rampant, which makes feminist, culturally-diverse children’s picture books celebrating LGBT2Q+ kids and families. He writes creative non-fiction for grown ups, fiction for children, the advice column Asking Bear, and was the co-editor (along with Kate Bornstein) of Gender Outlaws: The Next Generation. These days he spends most of his time making trans cultural competency interventions any way he can and trying to avoid stepping on Lego. His latest book is SPECIAL TOPICS IN BEING A HUMAN, from Arsenal Pulp.
