Wish List of Chicago Books to Women in Prison

A note from Chicago Books to Women in Prison

♥ Thank you for stopping by. Books are a lifeline for people in prison, and your support makes a real, tangible difference. ♥
Please browse both pages of our wish list, featuring books that are often asked for but rarely donated. You'll find a wide range of books and buying options, including:
  • Urgent needs like GED review books, puzzles, Easy Spanish Step-by-Step, dictionary/thesaurus combos, craft and drawing books, journals, and reentry books.
  • Gift cards, which are always welcome—especially when something on our list is temporarily unavailable.
  • Bundles of three books that are carefully selected per themes such as Pride and personal goals.

  • Also keep in mind:
  • One of our volunteers will pick up the books you buy—no shipping fee, no wasteful packaging.
  • Our wish list doesn't cover all the kinds of books we send every week. See our book donation guidelines for paperback books we appreciate new or used.
  • Your donation may be tax-deductible. (Please check with your financial advisor.)
  • You avoid paying sales tax when you buy gift cards. We'll buy books using our sales tax exemption number.

  • We're an all-volunteer, donation-funded 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and we send free paperback books to women and trans people in prisons nationwide. We couldn't do it without the support of friends like you. Learn more at our website. Find and follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Email us at chicagobwp[at]gmail.com.
